Marriott International is delighted to announce that it has been selected as the #1 Best Workplace in Vietnam™ 2024 for large companies by Great Place To Work® (GPTW), the global authority on workplace culture. The award recognizes Marriott International’s commitment to putting people first and fostering a workplace culture where every associate feels truly valued.
GPTW evaluates corporate trust management in 179 countries, including the U.S. and Europe, and has been selecting the world’s best workplaces for more than 30 years, based on trust, fairness, respect, pride, and camaraderie.
Marriott International achieved first place in this prestigious list for companies with more than 1,000 employees. According to GPTW, 91% of associates voted Marriott as a great place to work, compared to the average of 59% at a typical Global company.
“We are thrilled to have been recognized as the ‘Best Workplace in Vietnam’ for large companies. At Marriott, our associates are the heart of our business and essential to our success. Putting people first is an integral part of our company’s heritage, and is what has made Marriott such a great place to work. As we move into an exciting new era of expansion in Vietnam, it is wonderful to see that these values are as strong today as they were when the company was founded 98 years ago,” said Duke Nam, Regional Vice President - South Korea, Vietnam & Philippines.
At present, Marriott employs more than 7,400 people in Vietnam across 26 properties nationwide. The portfolio will increase significantly in the coming years, as Marriot advances its nationwide expansion strategy with the introduction of new hotels and brands across the country. Marriott is committed to serving the local community as it expands it footprint in Vietnam and will seek to actively recruit local talents to support its growth. It has established partnerships with several Vietnamese universities to provide internships and employment opportunities for talented young students keen to join the hospitality industry. The majority of Marriott’s key hotel leaders in Vietnam are Vietnamese, demonstrating the company’s strong confidence in local talent and highlights the success of Marriott’s career development programs, which is to empower every associate to reach their full potential.
Recently Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel was honored in Marriott International’s annual J. Willard Marriott Awards of Excellence, winning the 2025 “Debbie Marriott Harrison TakeCare Award of Excellence” for its exceptional commitment to fostering a people-first culture. The hotel designed hundreds of activities to enhance its associates’ physical, mental, and financial well-being. Highlights included the hosting of morning group walks to promote active lifestyles and foster a sense of togetherness, providing “relax rooms” and “calm booths” to help associates to recharge, and offering financial incentives for meeting monthly goals.
